Meet Erin

Erin Twamley is an award-winning children’s book author and educator (M.Ed.). Through her educational consulting group STEM Superheroes™ Erin leads hands-on encounters for kids and writes publications focused on the topics of science, technology, engineering or math referred to as STEM. She aims to share the careers, stories and superpowers of women in STEM careers to spark interest and build girls' confidence in STEM. She is a coauthor of the award-winning children’s book series, Everyday Superheroes, published by WiseInk and award-winning STEM project-based books by Nomad Press. 

Today, Ms. Twamley leads monthly virtual hands-on encounters for USA Girl Scouts Overseas and is the Makerspace Technician at the SHAPE International library. Through this work she provides hands-on STEM and makerspace engagement with kids and adults. 

Her work in connecting sustainability and STEM began when she was responsible for the education and workforce development portfolio in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). In 2022, she was named a Clean Energy Champion from the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE for her storytelling and energy literacy efforts.  Her latest co-authored children’s book Everyday Superheroes: Women in Energy Careers, the 2nd book in the series, was just released from WiseInk in July 2022.
