Meet Erin

Erin Twamley is an award-winning children’s book author and educator (M.Ed.) dedicated to sparking curiosity and building girls’ confidence and interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). Through her educational consulting group, STEM Superheroes™, Erin leads hands-on STEM experiences and creates engaging publications that share the inspiring careers, stories, and "superpowers" of women in STEM fields.

As the coauthor of the award-winning children’s book series Everyday Superheroes (WiseInk) and STEM project-based books (Nomad Press), Erin brings diverse role models to life for young readers. Her latest release, Renewable Energy Power the World with Sustainable Fuel, debuted in April 2024 and continues to inspire the next generation of innovators with hands-on STEM projects.

Currently, Erin leads the STEMinist program with USA Girl Scouts Overseas. In addition, she directs NATO’s first Makerspace at the SHAPE International Library, where she fosters hands-on STEM and makerspace engagement for kids and adults alike.

Erin’s passion for connecting sustainability and STEM began during her time managing the education and workforce development portfolio for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). Recognized as a Clean Energy Champion in 2022 by EERE, Erin continues to use storytelling and interactive learning to make STEM exciting and accessible.
